Something For All Ages
One of our top priorities is that our kids and youth would hear about Jesus. We work hard to provide a safe, loving, fun-filled environment where they can connect with others and learn about God in a meaningful, relevant way.
Kids Program at Our Weekend Services
Our kid's program is a place where your children can experience the adventure of encountering Jesus. From newborn babies to 5th grade students, we have different classrooms for your children to come learn about God in a fun and exciting way with other kids their age. With trusted and trained workers who care about kids, Oaks Kids is a great place for your children to learn what it means to follow Jesus while you are attending our services.
Getting Started: Registration
When you come into Oaks Kids area, you will be greeted by one of our Kid's Program Workers at the Oaks Kid’s Welcome Desk. They will help register your family and check your kids into class. After registration, they will gladly direct you and your children to the correct classroom which are categorized by age.
Children may be dropped off 15 minutes before the service begins (10:30 a.m.) and should be picked up soon after service has ended. You can meet the Oaks Kids Workers for your child's age group at the classroom.
Here among the fun and games, your child will experience worship, engage in age appropriate Bible teaching, learn to pray for one another, and start to build great friendships. Our trusted teachers and assistants use the Bible, engaging games, and focused activities to help the children learn and apply God's truth to their lives.
Shortly after the adult service ends, you should return to the Oaks Kids’ Welcome Desk to check out your child. Our teachers and helpers will bring your children to you shortly after you complete the checkout process.
We would love to hear from you! Contact our kids director with questions.
Oaks Youth (The OY)
The OY is a weekly gathering of our junior high students 5th-8th grade. We are dedicated to providing a place for these students to connect with God, with other students, and with trusted leaders who truly desire to see them grow closer to Jesus.
Starting the Morning
Your Junior High students will start the morning with the adults in the main auditorium. We will have saved space in the back row for them to sit together, but they are more than welcome to sit with you during this time. Your students will be dismissed, along with the OY leaders, at the end of announcements to go to their own meeting space.
During service your students will have a Bible discussion of their own, led by the youth leaders. They will spend 15-20 minutes talking together about a prepared topic from the Bible. Your students will also worship with the adults, whether that is at the beginning or the end of the service. At Oaks we also highly value the power and presence of God in prayer, which we also take time to do each week. In addition to these foundational parts of the church we want your students to have fun and develop genuine relationships with one another. We will use any remaining time to socialize and have fun together playing various games.
Shortly after the adult service ends, your students will be free to come find you. If worship is at the end of service your students will already be in the auditorium with you.
Outside of Sundays
We love to get our youth together in addition to their typical Sunday meeting time. We plan fun events in the greater Muncie area for them to build friendships together and with our leaders. Stay tuned on Sunday mornings for any OY activity announcements.
We would love to hear from you! Contact our youth director Lucas with any questions.
You might be wondering, “Where does a high school student fit in at Oaks Church?”
At this time we do not have a regular meeting high school group since we are a new church plant. However, we do have people at Oaks who are passionate and experienced in leading high schoolers and are looking forward to seeing our program grow. We would love to introduce you to some of these people to begin building relationships. Ultimately, our desire for the near future for Oaks is to build a dynamic and encouraging place for students to grow.
We are excited about High School students at Oaks and love both them and their families; we hope that you will check us out.
